Thea Realm Fighters
Prototype by High Voltage Software

I purchased a "CD" Atari Jaguar Developer System, from High Voltage Software, that included a game demo for "TRF" on the 4MB Alpine board. I later discovered that this was known as "Thea Realm Fighters" and not a CD developer system.

    Alpine Demo (HVSTRF.rom)

    Screen 02 Screen 03

    Screen 04 Screen 05

    Atari Jaguar Controls:
    Special Move "D-pad L/R" + "C"
    Jump "D-pad Up"
    Main Menu "option"
    Full controls still to come...

This playable demo has a title screen and then a character select screen with four characters and six backgrounds to choose from.

I later purchased CDRs, DDS tapes, and a floppy disc with Sound FX, Music, Animation Files, Project Notes, and more demos relating to this game. Early developers had labeled the project as "VRF" in 1994 and seemed to have changed it to "TRF" in 1995.

    Background Graphics Milestone #10 (bgms#10.cof)

    Screen 01 Screen 02 Screen 03 Screen 04 Screen 05

    Atari Jaguar Controls:
    Norm Scroll "D-pad L/R"
    Fast Scroll "A" + "D-pad L/R"
    New Location "option"

    Five different scrolling background scenes.

    Maze Demo (maze.rom)

    Maze Thumb

    Atari Jaguar Controls:
    Look to Side "D-pad L/R"
    Move Forward "D-pad U/D" Scale Up "1"
    Scale Down "2"

Programmed entirely in "c," this is the only demo of a "DOOM" or "Wolfenstein" style 3-D aspect to the game.

    Background Graphics Demo - June 30th (bk6-30.cof)

    bk6-30 Thumb

    Atari Jaguar Controls:
    Controler effect unknown
The foreground fighter appears to jump and do moves on his own

One scrolling background with an audience of cardboard figures in the background.

    Resubmission 10 (resub10.cof)

    Billie Bobcat Special

    Atari Jaguar Controls:
    Special Move "D-pad L/R" + "C"
    Jump "D-pad Up"
    Main Menu "option"
    Full controls still to come...

This is a three fighter Demo. It's a continuation of resubmission 9. Here, we see Soldier X, Neptar, and Billie Bobcat. Billie Bobcat appears to be the most "developed" of any of the TRF characters.

    More Demos (Resub9.cof?)

title screen Fyrina and Dracar Fyrina & Dracar Duel
    title screen Onyx and Velocia
title screen Renegade Marshall and Chan Ho

I need to sort out the rest of the demos I had trouble loading to the Alpine.

    MORE TO COME

For anyone reading this that does not know, Thea Realm Fighters is an unreleased game for the Atari Jaguar platform. I bought my developer system from High Voltage Software and was told I would be sent source code for VidGrid and a mystery game. A TRF binary was loaded onto the Alpine they sent, but no source code was packaged with my merchandise for either game title. Release rights were mentioned for a VidGrid sequel before I even obtained the Dev System. Later, when another person talked to them on my behalf, I was told some characters High Voltage created for TRF could possibly be used in a future release. I never obtained the source code for either game and High Voltage appears to have a selective memory when it comes to anything we've discussed in the past.
